After you’re approved

Your letter is only useful if housing gets it the right way. Use this checklist — then renew before the 1-year mark.

1. Download and keep the PDF
Save the clinician letter as issued. Do not edit it. Store a backup (email + cloud). The letter is valid for one (1) year from the purchase date.
2. Send a written accommodation request
Email or deliver the PDF with a short written request asking for a reasonable accommodation under the Fair Housing Act (and Florida housing rules where applicable).
3. Use our tenant request draft
Generate a cover letter in a few fields, copy it, and attach your Official ESA Letter PDF.

4. Offer verification, don’t argue diagnosis
Point them to the license details on the letter. Landlords may verify the clinician; they generally may not demand your full medical chart.
5. Need their form filled?
Within 30 days of letter delivery, Official ESA Letter can help with one standard verification / reasonable-accommodation form for the same evaluation. Contact us with your order details.

6. Renew before it expires
Start a renewal evaluation before the 1-year mark so documentation stays current. Returning renewals start at $99 for the first animal.

If a landlord still says no: Confirm whether the issue is a letter defect (we correct or refund under the refund policy) versus a lawful denial (for example, documented direct threat). Official ESA Letter cannot force a housing outcome.
